The 1508 chip provides an integrated brushed DC motor drive solution for battery-powered toys, low-voltage, or battery-powered motion control applications. The circuit internally integrates a two-channel H-bridge drive circuit designed with N-channel and P-channel power MOSFETs. It features a wide operating voltage range (from 2V to 9.6V), high operating current, ultra-low standby current, and built-in over-temperature protection.

The Mini 1508 Module is a motor driver module similar to the L298N, characterized by its compact size, making it ideal for use in smart cars, toy cars, and robots. It can drive two DC motors simultaneously or one 4-wire 2-phase stepper motor, and supports forward/reverse rotation and speed control functions. At 27°C with VDD = 6.5V, channel 1 can deliver a continuous current of up to 1.5A and a peak current of up to 2.5A. Channel 2 can deliver a continuous current of up to 0.8A and a peak current of up to 1.5A.

Precautions
  1. Ensure the power supply polarity is not reversed, otherwise the chip will be damaged.
  2. The chip has thermal protection in the event of an output short circuit or motor stall. However, the chip may also be damaged if the voltage is near or exceeds 10V and the peak current significantly surpasses 2.5A.
